All about pads—Special Features
Choosing the feminine protection that's right for you is a really personal choice. Always offers a variety of pad choices to suit a woman's individual needs.
The Always family is divided into two groups of pads:
Always Thin Ultras
Always Maxis
Always Thin Ultras are very absorbent, very thin pads that are perfect for women on the move. Always Maxis provide the feeling of security that many women like.
All Always Thin Ultra pads are Quilted for faster absorption than before.
Dri -Weave
All the pads in the Always family feature our patented Dri-Weave. This top sheet is covered with one way cone shaped holes that quickly pull wetness into the absorbent core and help keep it there. Dri-Weave covering helps you stay clean and dry.
Flexi-Wings
Flexi-Wings is another feature on many Always pads. These are thin flaps that wrap smoothly around the sides of your underwear and flex when you move. Flexi -Wings protect more of your underwear and help hold the pad in place. Designed with a flexible material, they move with your body for great protection.
Gel-Core
The Thin Ultra family features the Gel-Core system. The Gel-Core material has a structure that allows it to absorb liquid and turn it into a gel. The liquid is captured as a gel in the core of the pad and kept away from you. Because of the absorbing capacity of the Gel-Core system, Thin Ultras give great protection in a pad that is 5 times thinner than leading competitive non-wing thick maxis!
Side Grooves
The Maxi family is designed with Side Grooves. Side Grooves help channel moisture along the pad.
Usage issues
Some girls use pads for a while until they become familiar with their flow. If you decide to use pads, just remember to change them frequently. A pad that's worn too long may develop an odor.
Also, never flush pads or their wrappers into the toilet because they could clog it. Instead, wrap the used pad in tissue paper or the wrapper provided and throw it into the special receptacle or trash can.
For heavier flow, Ultras can provide as much protection as Maxi's -- without the bulkiness. Long pads offer a larger span of protection while pads with wings, which tuck around the sides of your underwear, keep your pad from shifting and give extra protection. Overnight pads are especially created for sleep. They cover a larger area of the underwear because of their longer front-to-back length and their wings.
Pads (also called sanitary napkins) "tape" to your underwear with adhesive strips. To use one, you just remove the protective paper that covers the sticky side and then press that adhesive side of the pad on to your underwear.
Although pads come in a variety of sizes, most are shaped the same way, long and rectangular. Some may have rounded ends or "wings" -- extra flaps that fold over the sides of your underwear for increased protection. Pads also come in different absorbencies, which means that they're designed to handle any type of menstrual flow, from light to extra heavy.
